1.Calabasas throws a full day party for the 4th of July that includes a morning fun run, midday pet show and splash party, and a nighttime celebration at Calabasas High School with games, a band, and an incredible fireworks display. Visit cityofcalabasas.com for all the details.
2. If you want to be cool and feel cool, beachside is where you want to be.Pacific Palisades starts their party at 2pm with patriotic skydivers and a parade then caps the evening with fireworks. Check palisadesparade.org for info.
3. If it’s fireworks over the ocean you are looking for, head south for the Marina Del Rey display. Gather to watch at Burton Chace Park, Fisherman’s Village, Mother’s Beach, or any of the waterfront restaurants or hotels. Fireworks start at 9pm. Visitmarinadelrey.com for info on where to park.
4 Some of THE most important childhood memories growing up in LA were made at THE ROSE BOWL. Make some special ones for your family with AMERICAFEST, which is exactly what is sounds like. A full-on “fest” of food, games, rides, crafts, stunt shows, & a big bright fireworks display at 9pm. Doors open at 2pm. $20 dollar parking and awesome tailgating strongly encouraged!
5. Want to do something inspiring and awe inspiring at the same time? Head toVenice Beach for the Mr. & Mrs. Muscle Beach bodybuilding competition. Final judging starts at 1 pm and all ages can enjoy the muscular fun. Details at musclebeachvenice.com.
