Serving locally and sustainably sourced seafood and other American favorites, Bottlefish offers guests a mix of both classic and unique chef-driven dishes—complete with seasonal ingredients, local produce, and assorted vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options—ranging from oysters and lobster tails to daily grilled fish and a loaded cheeseburger. Twenty years ago, long before Sweet Butter Kitchen, Café and Market, Leslie Danelian started Sweet Somethings Catering Company in Sherman Oaks, California. Leslie had already been in the food business for ten years on the Westside as a food stylist, recipe writer, caterer and cake designer before relocating to Sherman Oaks to raise her family.
Mary’s Lamb, the famed farmhouse restaurant in Sherman Oaks, hired Leslie to stock their store with her signature Cakes, Cookies, Bars and Tarts. While baking for Mary’s Lamb, Leslie grew her Sweet Somethings clientele one satisfied customer at a time with her innovative fresh flower wedding cakes, royal icing cut-out cookies, gingerbread houses and hand decorated celebration cakes.
Leslie served as a consultant on two food shows, “Next Door with Katie Brown” and “Napa Style” with Michael Chiarello and has created signature sweets and savories for such clients as Cruise/Wagner, New Line Cinema, Triage Entertainment, The Laurence School, Young Musicians Organization, UCLA, and Jennifer and John Nordstrom.
It was a natural next step for Leslie Danelian and her husband Rick Berge to open Sweet Butter Kitchen, Café and Market in Sherman Oaks, California.
