It’s Summertime ya’ll! Time for Summer Camp, Summer Blockbuster Movies and Summer Concert Series. Don’t you just love Summer? We’ve been checking out the concert schedules and wanted to share some of our top finds with you!
Summertime brings out Angelenos from across the city to converge at the Hollywood Bowl for a unique LA experience outdoors! There’s no better place to get your concert on during the Summer than the Hollywood Bowl. You can select regular seating or table seating and can bring food with you or pick it up there. Tonight Ed Sheeran will be rocking Hollywood as the Summer Series gets well underway. Other performers include Bootsy Jaxx Bootsy’s Rubber Band Featuring Bootsy collins, Smoky Robinson on the 4th of July, Harry Connick Jr, John Fogerty and, of course, multiple performances by the LA Philharmonic with such renowned guests as Yuja Wang and David Gray. This Friday night we will be there for the Sound of Music Singalong celebrating the movie’s 50th anniversary.
The Getty Museum hosts a series of concerts year round including Kids Concerts in the Garden, Friday Flights and Saturdays Off the 405 featuring performances by your soon-to-be favorite bands, along with DJ sets to open and close the night. Upcoming concerts include Lucky Dragons, Waters, Ducktails, Jazzy Ash and the Leaping Lizards, Lisa Loeb, the Not Its and 5 Every Day. Not to be outdone the Skirball is hosting a number of Sunset Concerts this Summer too. Just up the hill from the Getty off the 405. Come early to visit the museum and see the Rock n Roll Billboards of the Sunset Strip exhibit, then get ready to get your Summer concert on. Let the Skirball’s eclectic Sunset Concerts transport you around the globe—Thursday nights, this summer. Dedicated to inspiring the diverse populations of greater Los Angeles through innovative music, the nineteenth season of this series once again showcases exceptional global talents, both legendary and emerging.
Now in it’s 31st year the Twilight Concert Series at Santa Monica Pier is a Summer Staple. Spend the day at the beach and stay to hear Morris Day and the Time, Cubanismo, Sister Nancy, Jefferson Starship and so many more! Concerts take place on Thursday nights at 7pm and a FREE to attend.
