MomAngeles makes it easy to find things for Moms, but we had to dig a little deeper to find cool stuff for Dad. I’ll toot that horn. It’s a REALLY awesome list. This TOP5 is sure to give you great ideas for Dads in LA and probably turn you on to some things you didn’t even know the city had to offer. Back again next week with another curated list from a Mom’s point of view: Top5 Let’s Get Wet #BestofLA.
1.Got a Sushi Lover in your house? Celebrate Japanese Culture at the Sun Valley Obon Festival. Bring Dad out for some Japanese sushi and entertainment, plus Judo, Karate, and Kendo demos and even a traditional Tea Ceremony. It’s June 18th and 19th from 5-10 pm. Visit their website for info.
2. Dads. Love. Trains. And so do the kids that they made, so take Dad to the Father’s Day Lunch Train on the Fillmore & Western Railway. Take a relaxing train ride while spoiling Dad with BBQ lunch and more. Details here.
3. Check Out Incredible Chalk Art at the Pasadena Chalk Festival on June 18th and 19th. Paseo Colorado will have tons of chalk art on display, plus activities for kids and Dads (ok, you too Mom) and even have a place for your kids to make Father’s Day cards. Not that ANY of us would forget to make one…right…
4. Celebrate Father’s Day, Cowboy Style at the Autry Museum’s Father’s Day BBQ. Treat dad or granddad to a fun-filled day at the Autry Museum in Griffith Park, starting with tasty BBQ! Then find your inner cowboy exploring the museum and panning for fake gold. Visit TheAutry.org to get tickets. YEEEEE HAAAWWW!!
5. Sports and Dads go Hand-in-Hand. Start with FRIDAY, June 17th, at 7:10pm with Friday Night Fireworks (thanks to Denny’s). Bring Dad out to the ballgame for an early celebration before the Father’s Day rush! Dodger Stadium does it again for us on Sunday 1:10 against The Brewers. Get in early & get a built-in Dad’s Day Gift; Father’s Day Boxers.
