The final night of the 3 part series.
Is there something specific you want to work on? From how to make bouquets for weddings, or to use as arrangements, to creating holiday arrangements out of pumpkins or melons. Have you always wanted to learn how to create gorgeous orchids for the home or office? You will put in your request during the Advanced Skills class, and we’ll be making advanced arrangements that can be used any time of year.

This series will teach you the foundation of floral design, meant for the novice or person that wants to gain professional design experience. This in-depth course will teach you flower prep and care for varieties used, how to use tools, the basic tricks of good design, aesthetics and design, how to properly buy flowers, and will allow you to design on your own. Carly Cylinder, author of The Flower Chef, will lead each class, starting off with an overview of the class and flowers, demo, and then hands-on work. There will be an assistant on hand to give you personalized attention for each arrangement you make.
Unlike other floral classes, you will be able to learn floral design that you can apply to any type of arrangement. It is highly recommended that you take all three classes for practical, real-life purposes, and to learn the entire scope of floral design. This floral design school will give you the tools and guidance you need to make professional arrangements on your own, or as a career as a florist. Upon completion, you will receive a design certificate. Sign-up for all three to reserve your spot for the entire curriculum.
Maximum class size is 15.
We will be meeting every other Wednesday in April.
What to bring: Option to buy a kit below, or bring your own scissors. Tool kits will be distributed on the first class. Please bring a notepad and pen to take notes.
Included: Wine, water, and snacks will be provided. All flowers and vases will be provided for each class. Take home your own arrangement each week.
Where: Our classes are located at Surfas in Culver City. Floral design students will receive 10% off smallwares and 5% off food.
