MomAngeles is an online resource and community for busy LA Moms. We put Moms in touch with the BEST that LA has to offer. If its a class, event, resource, expert or service Moms should know about, we write about it and list it by category in our Baby, Kids and and Mom’s Directory in an easy to use format that helps you find what you need quickly. Our Event Calendar is a selective listing of educational, interactive and arts related experiences for kids and Moms, charity events, and our own MomAngeles events.

We have a heavy school and education focus. Moms spend 14+ years involved with their kids schools. It’s the center of a Mom’s and child’s universe. Recognizing this we write about and list school and education resources, school events and fundraisers, in-school and after-school programs and additional educational services like tutoring and test prep. We also host and co-sponsor education related events.
About Our Team!
Founder & Co-Owner, Laura Nix Gerson launched MomAngeles as a place to share all of the information she discovered about LA in a user-friendly, fun, welcoming format. Laura has a delightful, creative daughter who keeps her endlessly entertained and her desire to always be on the go helps fuel this site. Prior to launching MomAngeles, Laura was in Sales & Marketing, business development, PR and events promotion for almost 20 years. She really adores now being a Social Media Maven! Laura is also a contributing writer for CBS Local Los Angeles, Hollywood Hot Moms, MoonFrye and MomsLA.com. She loves to JÄM with Neda, living by the ocean, comfy pants, her dogs, the endless creativity that abounds in her house from her entrepreneurial husband to her artistic daughter (their walls are covered in preschool art) and Ritter Sport Yogurt bars. Co-Owner of MomAngeles and CEO & Founder of Zookies Lora Jakobsen is a resident of Sherman Oaks and the mother of two bright, energetic, fun loving boys. She is always in the know about events happening all over LA as well as on her side of town. The former Community Relations Consultant for Plum District, Lora was responsible for building awareness for the terrific daily deal site among LA Moms. Lora is also the founder of Zookies, creative and educational children’s products that encourage kids to explore their imagination, discover the arts, and find new forms of self-expression. Lora has worked in product development with companies including Dessousdessus Inc and Axiom. Lora also worked in development and production on major motions pictures with such prestigious names as William Morris and Rotholtz Pictures for New Line Cinema. Director of Advertising, Kathryn Hutchinson Lancey, a 3rd generation native of Long Beach and the OC, spent over 20 years in SoCal selling advertising and consulting for companies such as CNBC-Financial News, Blair TV / NBC, ABC Family, Initiative Media (IPG), The Palisadian-Post Newspaper and Creative Arts Entertainment. She was the founder of Emerald Communications, which managed and implemented media plans focused on buying paid programming and branded entertainment, on major television networks. Kathryn and her Lifetime movie producer husband, Chris Lancey, enjoy an active and busy lifestyle with their three energetic children. As an involved community parent in the Palisades she has been a member of the Junior Women’s Group, Lead Singer in the Contemporary Band & Choir and Deacon at her church. When not busy meeting people and putting deals together, Kathryn loves puttering in her bluff cottage garden, amateur interior decorating, swimming, rollerblading, cycling, and JÄM with Neda!
