Top 5 Fourth of July Suggestions

(#1 – Pacific Palisades) What’re you doing for the 4th of July? My family and I are attending the Pacific Palisades Parade. Skydivers swoop in at 1:50pm and the parade starts at 2pm. This local “small town” (ok I have to put that in parentheses because the Palisades while it might feel like Mayberry at moments is by no means a small town) event is followed by a performance by the English Beat and fireworks after sundown. A little tip…DO NOT park in the Village North of Sunset if you want to leave before 6 pm. The streets are all closed off and its very hard to cross Sunset.

If you want to grab dinner afterwards head to Gladstones. They will be celebrating with some all-American classics featuring three brand new gourmet burgers (beef with blue cheese and mushroom or bacon and cheddar; sausage and veal with caramelized onions), and Papaya King’s famous all-beef franks. And sip a summer cocktail to make it a beachside celebration worthy of fireworks…you ill be able to see them all up and down the beach from their deck. Click here or call 310.454.3474 to make your reservation.

(#2) Knott’s Berry Farm and all three Southern California Knott’s Soak City water parks –Palm Springs, San Diego and Buena Park will be offering FREE admission to active and retired United States Military personnel July 2-6 as part of their Tribute to the Armed Forces Program.  Additionally, active and retired members of the U.S. military will be able to purchase discounted admission tickets for members of their immediate family. The offer will be available Monday, July 2 through Friday, July 6 with a valid military ID. On the fourth they will host a spectacular aerial fireworks show at 10:00 pm. For details Click Here.

Not sure either of our first two suggestions are the right ones for you? There are an endless array of fantastic things to do this July 4th all over the city. Check out these suggestions from some of our favorite local sites and Mom bloggers.

This is fabulous! I’m a major fan of Knott’s (especially when the other parks are overrun during the summer). Desiree Eaglin’s post is really great – I’ve been meaning to check out the Newport Harbor fireworks for YEARS. :)

  2. Great suggestions! So fun!
