KIDSMUSE Art Camp at UCLA’s Fowler Museum, July 16-27
Letter-Mania is the theme of this art camp at UCLA’s Fowler Museum. Kids ages 6-8 will explore letters, shapes and designs during a program inspired by the Italian artist, Boetti. Letter-Mania is inspired by the exhibition, Order and Disorder: Alighiero Boetti by Afghan Women. From 1971 to 1994, Italian artist Alighiero Boetti (1940–1994) embarked on a series of projects with Afghan embroiderers, creating monumental pieces that would become some of the artist’s most iconic works.
As part of the letter programs campers will do a number of activities including: designingtheir own stenciled art work inspired by Boetti, exploring letter-making using movement and shapes, discovering the ABCs of the Botanical Garden on the UCLA Campus, indulging in some delicious alphabet soup, experimenting with letters to design telling borders, incorporating paint and chance to connect the dots, and playing fun-filled matching and memory letter games and much, much more!
