Venice Del Play: A Very Cool Beach Camp!
When the summer heats up, let your kids cool down at one of LA’s coolest beach camps! One of our mom friends calls Venice Del Play an ”incredible” summer camp experience for her two kids. This camp, featured in the Los Angeles Times, meets at locations in Venice and Santa Monica. The camp gives kids their first experience riding the waves! It also offers yoga, gymnastics, tai chi, music, dance and games. There is an educational message woven throughout camp activities, which focuses on ocean safety and caring for the marine environment.
Carmen Thomas, a mom, teacher and yoga instructor, founded Venice Del Play. Her co-founder, Coach Sydney Lovelace of LA Surf and Swim, visits the camp to teach water sports. He opened his own swim school in 2007 and has been a former competitive swimmer and surf/swimming teacher. Venice Del Play will hold two weeks of camp, July 2 and Aug. 13th.
