Based on her real-life struggles to get her daughter Livi to take a bath, Maizes writes with the unique ability to tell a story that is sure to captivate young kids. Maizes tries her hardest to convince Livi that its time to take a bath, but Livi imagines herself a snake who “sticks my tongue out at my brother,” as she finds ways to avoid her bath.
“Today, Livi!” her mom calls. But Livi is too busy in her own world, one where she creates the entertaining activities that are a lot more fun than taking a bath. On her way to the bath, Livi encounters the usual, everyday stuff in her house, like building blocks and her sister’s room. But, because its bath time, these mundane things become fascinating. Thrilled to invent distractions to escape bath time, Livi creates a wild adventure that will captivate and amuse your kids as they hear the familiar call, “bath time!”
Beautifully illustrated by Michael Paraskevas (an artist best known for creating Maggie and the Ferocious Beast for Nickelodeon), the delightful pictures help tell Livi’s amusing story.
On My Way To The Bath is a book that will have your kids saying, “read it again mom, read it again, please!” This book is a fast-paced, entertaining read for young kids and a great book for new, up-and-coming readers.

BEST lure to the bath? Books books books! We started with the plastic baby books as bath toys and graduated to reading picture books and then chapter books aloud while the children soaked, soaped and shampooed! It worked like a charm for my children and now for their children.

“Window Washing”. My son has always been fascinated with window washers. He gets a washcloth to “wash the windows” – really the shower doors when he gets in. He gets a tub and I get clean doors – a win win!

Mr. Rubber ducky all the way. My daughter won’t get in without him.

We’ve tried various tactics to lure my daughter to the bathtub – encouraging her to ‘wash dishes’ or give her bathtoys a bath. We’ve also blown bubbles and given scented bubble baths.
